List two conflicts that happened in chapter one and predict what their resolutions will be.
1. That the people were hungry and they were starving.
The people were also mad at Tao for leaving the rabbit and forgetting it.
2.The people were starving. And Tao was going to help the dog.

1. What do Tao and Ram learn to do together?
Tao and Ram leared that if the hunt tegator they could get a lot of food to feed them and
the people in his troop. They also learned that if ram does the finding and Toa does the
killing they would make a great team.They also if Tao sees something and he can't run to get
it he tells ram and ram gets it and kills if he can. They also learned to help each other and feed
each other. They also learned to fight for each other so if ram is in troulble Tao is about to get
killed ram helps. The last one is to not kill each other.
2. What decision does Tao tell Volt?
He told Volt that was a great, but he would like to hunt with the wolf. Then that he and the wolf
make a great team and they could hunt almost anything. He are very well friends unlike the people
and the boys. The boys are mean to him, the animal is nice. So what I'm trying to say I don't want
to hunt with you guys.
3. Write a good paragraph from Volt's perspective. How do you feel about Tao's actions and decisions?
I would not be mad I would let him do the hunting with the wolf. I would say go on I am not mad
unless you bring something with you could go and do what you want with the wolf. Me and the rest
are going and trying to find and if we cant it is in your hands. So you could hunt with the wolf olny if
you bring something back. If you don't suffer the conquences wich is to not see the wolf any more
and come hunting with us. If you do you are not part of our troop. Do you understand!!!!!!!!!!
Chapter 8 October 11,2006
Imagine a situation in our time where someone has a dream, and an authority figure or society tells them not to do it. Describe the situation. What do you think the person should do?
The childs mom was in the hospital and was very sick. She wondered how she was doing then. After she
want it ot pay her a vist. The people wouldn't let her in she got mad she said that is my mom and I want
to see her. They said sorry they said. Then she went to a juge and to her that her mom is in the hospital
and they wouldn't let her in. The juge signed the paper to let the child in. Then when she got in she saw
that the beeper is straight then she cheked her moms hearth and heared that she ws dead. Her religon said
no one is aloud to put a person in a coffin just burry her in the ground with no coffin. But she didn't follow
it she didn't care it was her mom her own blood.
So I think it was right to put the mom in the coffin it was her blood the person raised her and did so many
things for her so she didn't care. I would do the same to for my mom I would not care if l die.

1. Why do you think Graybeard changed his mind?
Graybeard changed his mind because he thought mabye he was really good. So Graybeard changed his mind.
Also he was getting old and he needed someone to take over when he is dead and Graybeard thought that Tao was the one to take over he could draw good and he loves it.
2. What does this tell you about his character?
He was nice to give him a chance. Also when he got mad it was for Tao's own life. If they found it he will die.

1. Do you think Greybeard is a good teacher? Why?
Yes, because if he yells and wastes his nerves on you that could mean he cares about Tao. Because already Tao
learned something how to draw faster.
2. Would you like to have been taught a skill by him? Why?
Yes I would want him as my teacher because already in one day I could learn how to draw faster in one day then
yes.

5. Throughout the novel the author hints that Volt is actually trying to protect Tao from harm. Find at least four times when this happens. Write down the page number and what happened. 6 a. Why does Volt feel guilty?
Because he was doing all this bad things to Tao his son.
b. Do you think he regrets anything he did in the past?
Yes, beacause you see him mean and frustrated everday and you know he is thinking about someone or something
c. If so, what does he regret?
He regrets that he left his son, he regrets doing all this bad things to his son.
7. Resolution Do you think Volt changes by the end of the novel, or are his qualities still the same? Be sure to mention what you believe are his most significant qualities.
He changes beacause he realzes that what he has done is very bad to his son and he becomes nicer and tell Tao that he is his son.
8. Resolution The novel presents several problems, most of which are resolved in the end. These problems include:
a. The clan is starving
b. Tao wants to be an artist, but drawing is taboo for all except Chosen Ones
c. Tao wants to know about his parents
d. Tao thinks hunting with a wolf dog is a good idea, but dogs are taboo for his clan
e. The leaders do not realize that Tao was following Graybeard’s instructions, and they seek to punish him for breaking taboos.
How are each of these problems resolved? Write how each is resolved. Then, for each problem and resolution, explain how a character’s qualities led to the resolution of the problem. Use this example as a model:

Resolution: Tao brings plenty of food once he starts hunting in the slough with Ram.
Explanation: Tao is stubborn and does whatever he thinks is right, ignoring his clan’s taboos. Because of this, he breaks the rules and enters the slough. This allows him to find food for his people.
b. Problem: Tao wants to be an artist, but drawing is taboo for all except Chosen Ones
Resolution: At the end he find out that he is because his father Volt is king of the clan.
Explanation: He was very, very stubbron and he was risking his life to draw.
c. Problem: Tao wants to know about his parents
Resolution: His father Volt told him at the end.
Explanation: He never gived up.
d. Problem: Tao thinks hunting with a wolf dog is a good idea, but dogs are taboo for his clan
Resolution: His clan lets because the dog was cathcing the food.
Explanation: The more the toa and the wolf dog hunted the more food and that is why they let.
e. Problem: The leaders do not realize that Tao was following Graybeard’s instructions, and they seek to punish him for breaking taboos.
Resolution: He becomes a chosen one
Explanation: he fights saxon and wins and they think he is doing magic so they put him a chosen one.
